Interpreting

Some appointments cannot legally go ahead without an interpreter. An Indonesian notary drawing up a deed for a foreign signatory, a court hearing with a foreign witness, an immigration interview — in each case the interpreter's presence is part of the record.

Choosing the right mode

Consecutive interpreting — the speaker pauses, the interpreter follows — suits notary appointments, interviews, site visits and small meetings. Simultaneous interpreting, from a booth or with a portable system, suits conferences, training and anything where stopping to translate would break the event. We advise which one fits and what equipment it needs.

Preparation is most of the work

Give the interpreter the draft deed, the case file, the slide deck or the product names in advance and the difference in the room is obvious. Everything shared for preparation is covered by a confidentiality undertaking, and we sign your own NDA where you have one.

Common questions

How far in advance should we book?

A week is comfortable for common languages in major cities. Rare languages, remote locations and simultaneous setups with equipment need more. Urgent bookings are often still possible — ask.

Does the notary require a sworn interpreter specifically?

Usually yes when a foreign party signs an Indonesian deed, and the interpreter is named in the deed itself. Tell us the notary's requirement and we assign someone who meets it.
